I was born and raised in Waterbury, CT as the first American in both sides of my family. My parents and two older siblings migrated to the USA in 1986 in hopes of obtaining the American Dream. I recieved the Leadership Tuition Scholarship to attend the University of Connecticut and graduated in 2008 with a bachelors degree in political science. During my undergraduate career I participated in the student campus Latino community as a staff and member of the Puerto Rican Latin American Cultural Center. I also was a member of Delta Zeta Gamma Beta chapter Sorority. I interned for the Hispanic Health Council as an outreach worker providing medical outreach to migrant farm workers of the Connecticut river valley. I earned my law degree from the University of Massachusetts School of Law in 2011 and interned with Bristol County District Attorney's Office and UMASS Small Business/Non-profit Community Development Clinic. I am able to practice law in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Northern District Court of NY. I opened my private practice and have offices at home and in Pittsfield, MA to make myself more accesible to both the capital district community and western MASS community. I serve as a member of the Legal Project's - Capital District Immigration Coolition Task force
What is your Latin American/Hispanic Heritage?
How do you see yourself helping shape and define the future of Latinos in NYS?
With the rise of the Hispanic demographic, I see myself utilizing my bilingual and legal skills to counsel Latinos to make educated choices in obtaining legal status and keeping their family's best interest at the forefront.
What accomplishment are you most proud of and why?
Passing the Bar exam my first try, because no one in my family has ever achieved such a high title. My parents were only high school graduates, and my grandparents had even less education. The odds were against me because of my immigrant background and social class.
