Jennifer Siaca Curry CEO and Founder Change Impact
How did you get to where you are today? Jen Siaca Curry, Ed.D., is a first-generation college graduate, also earning a masters in non-profit management and doctorate in education leadership, both from New York University. Jen is Founder and CEO of Change Impact, a firm that provides on-demand services to support mission-driven organizations. Jen previously held a number of leadership roles in the social impact sector, from designing high-quality after-school programs for low-income communities to creating new work readiness curricula that help public systems adapt to the future of work. Jen is a member of the NYU Latinx Alumni Committee and Vice President of the NYS Network for Youth Success board of directors. Jen is a published author and regular speaker, having given talks to a wide range of audiences including the Prospanica National Conference for Latino Professionals, the National AfterSchool Association annual convention, and the National Association of Workforce Boards conference. She was recently featured on The Career Passport podcast discussing ways companies and individuals can integrate social impact into their work. Who has been the most influential person in your life and why? My parents are the co-most influential people in my life, having raised me to focus on education and truly believe I can do anything I set my mind to. How did you decide on your college major OR the career you have chosen? and how do you see your choice as an opportunity to help your community? I always knew I wanted to work in the social service sector, and youth services and education seemed like the right place to have the largest impact. My work has focused on kids' lives beyond the classroom - what happens after school, in their communities, and as they move into adulthood. What is your Latino / Hispanic Heritage? Puerto Rican Best memory of growing up. Thanksgiving - my favorite holiday! Best memory of a day at school or work. The day I defended my doctoral dissertation. Best day ever. The day my daughter was born! Where did you go to College and what was your focus/major OR what College are you attending and what is your major?
